Amit Chitnis

Amit Chitnis, MD, MPH, is the Alameda County Public Health Department's Director of Clinical Services and Tuberculosis Controller and Section Director. He is a clinical and public health subject matter expert on diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis,

hepatitis B, healthcare-associated infections, and influenza. He has significant experience evaluating, interpreting, and applying epidemiologic and clinical data

to guide decision-making for patients and for public health policy.

Amit has worked for the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He is excited to bring all his experiences to the fight against hepatitis B in the Bay Area.
